I don't think i can clap enough for this! I loved Borders. San Francisco had an enormous one, stretching up three or four floors. The last time I saw it, it was being gutted, with the once groaning tables and shelves looking like the thrift shop remnant sale.
At one stage we had nine of them here in Melbourne. I loved them. Buy a coffee, read a book in a comfy chair, put it back on the shelf, and nobody gave a damn.
Geez, I blew through some money in that place and had a wonderful time. Everyone there was my people.
