I see what you did there! Weird song, but so often they are the best when you really go digging into them.
I had to hunt up the Glen Campbell song:

I get my ideas from everywhere. Toss them into a big pot bubbling away on the backburners of my mind.
Mark Kelly suggested I write something about old and young lovers together, and I have a story about that.
Another song came along, and gave me a hook to hang the story on.
And now, you’ve given me those odd lines from Gentle on My Mind. “Rivers of my memory” — how good is that?
