Wow. This is gold. I love Mondrian. Seemingly simple and trite, but intricate and thoughtful.
One of my favourite places in the entire universe is the Kimbell in Fort Worth. A small but exquisite collection which includes a couple of Mondrians. Including this one.
I can almost see the gears turning over as he evolved his style from representational to abstract.
They have another Mondrian which is interesting in the way it uses — or doesn’t use — lines.
