I use Insight Timer. Cool app, though I don’t use all the bells and whistles. Just the bells.
Usually thirty minutes, but sometimes if I am really short of time on a busy day, I’ll go longer. I need the extra energy, you see.
While time spent meditating is always good, it will take me five minutes just to settle down and get to a place where I might be open to finding a connection. And I’ve been doing this since I was a teenager.
Besides, all too often Princess Fluffypants will climb onto my lap and meditate with me. If she begins purring, it will be another distraction. But a good one.
I know that some can meditate anywhere. On a busy street in Mumbai. I’m not that person!
Five minutes may not be a proper meditation for me, but it is a good long pause, and any pause out of a busy day is extra good. I try to pause between activities, give myself a tiny holiday.
Thanks for sharing your routine. Every day is a different challenge, but a comfortable path out of sleep and into the day is a treasure to hold onto. A base to set you up.
