I'm not sure I'd count atheism as a religion. A philosophy, certainly. Religion involves a priesthood and temples and bureaucracy, all of which require resources. Nobody's holding atheist meetings and passing the plate.
Jesus said a lot of good things, but I'm very dubious about a lot of the unlikely things he supposedly did. Miracles and magic and prophecies and so on, all added in afterwards.
The Christian Trinity, for example. That came from Plotinus, and Egyptian neo-Platonist who helped out when Rome adopted Christianity.
As for American Christianity. I doubt Christ would recognise any of it.
