One thing struck me about your writing. I’ve seen it in a couple of your stories now. I’m puzzled that you are using quotes to give emphasis to otherwise straightforward parts of your own story. Quotes are generally used for two purposes:

• To quote another writer, often someone famous:

Put not thy faith in platitudes – Don Trump

• To repeat and highlight part of the story:

One thing struck me about your writing.

This is actually kind of odd, and not part of usual writing practice.
