Mmmm, I think haiku can be deep, in the way that they can slip past the words and touch a feeling. It's fleeting, but sometimes there's a moment, it might be the dawn on a dewdrop, it could be the squiggle in an abstract painting, it could be the smile on a child's face, it brings you closer to the absolute in a way that thinking cannot.

Here is where I began thinking of haiku. In a story of Japan, full of those moments.
