Very rare to see any mention of Panini and his brilliant system. You can do a university course on Sanskrit here and they never even touch on Panini!

Sanskrit should be more widespread. I do not like to read the Gita, for example, unless the Sanskrit text is given so that I can get a feel for how far the English has departed from the original.

And yes, Panini's grammar is an amazing system in itself. I have heard the computer geeks in my group enthuse over how much it is like a low-level computer language.
